For your convenience, we accept three major credit cards; MasterCard, Visa and American Express. We ask that for your security and safety, you telephone us with your credit card information. Before your order is processed, it will be confirmed against available stock, and shipping arrangements made. Once you have finalized your order, we will process your payment and prepare your package for shipment. FedEx is our preferred carrier, please read further for pricing and information.
For legal
reasons, you must be at least 21 years of age to order
and receive alcoholic beverages. All shipments within
the US will require a signature at the time of delivery.
We ship a limited selection of wine to states that
have made it legal for you to receive alcoholic beverage
shipments. These include Arizona, Alaska, California,
Colorado, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida,
Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas,
Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana,
Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York,
North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania,
Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Washington, Washington,
D.C., Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia, Wisconsin,
and Wyoming.
Although all online wine purchases are carefully inspected
and selected from available retail stock in optimum
conditions and insured for shipment, please be aware
that wine is purchased at your own risk.
We
find FedEx is the most cost-effective, efficient and
wine-friendly service that easily accommodates specific
customer needs. They offer Ground to business and home
addresses and Home for residences only. Express delivery
can be offered if faster service is desired. Standard
delivery time is 3 to 5 business days. Online tracking
is available with FedEx and the tracking number will
be included in your confirmation email. Fed Ex will
not deliver alcohol to PO Boxes or APO/FPO addresses.
During extreme hot or cold months of the year, and
depending on your location, we recommend the fastest
shipment method possible, such as Express service.

In order to minimize the risk of wines or perishables
in non-temperature-controlled warehouses over the weekend,
The French Cellar ships orders on Tuesday and Wednesday,
unless otherwise instructed by the customer, and at
their own risk. We do not ship on major holidays.
We
ship wine in cardboard-boxed Styrofoam bottle containers
of twelve ($10), six ($6) and two ($4) bottles only.
The cost of the shipping container will be added to
actual FedEx shipping charges, there are no handling
fees.
Accessories and confections are packaged and shipped
separately from wine. Most crystal, wine accessories
and confections are shipped to us from France in custom
boxes or in special insulated packing. To further insure
a successful delivery, we repack these items for shipping.
Shipping charges include $6 to cover the cost of materials,
and are based on the weight of the merchandise you
order and the destination of the shipment.
We
will gift-wrap your purchases and enclose a card with
your message at no additional charge. Unfortunately,
we cannot gift-wrap wine; the Styrofoam shippers close
tightly over wine bottles and make it impossible.
We are happy to send a gift certificate to honor a
special occasion. Just give us the recipient’s
name and address, your name and address, the date of
the occasion and a brief message. The French Cellar
gift certificates come in increments of $25, $50, $100
and $500. We will send the gift certificate in an attractive
envelope enclosure, with ribbon and store gold seal.
Due to various environmental
control and health policies, we cannot accept any return
of food or wine perishables for exchange or credit.
All shipments are insured, and any damages incurred
in transit, will be recovered via FedEx, as outlined
in their policy and conditions statement. The customer
will be credited via credit card when approval is completed.
The customer must call us within 2 days of delivery
to notify us of any damage, and we will file a claim
with FedEx on your behalf.
If you need to return your crystal or wine accessory
purchase for credit, please notify us by email or phone
within 24 hours and return within 15 days. Please carefully
repackage your item in the original shipping carton,
include the invoice and return to us via the postal
service of your choice. We ask that you insure your
shipment against theft and damage, so that you may
be compensated in the event of loss or breakage in
transit. A credit to your card will only be issued
if we receive your return in original and unused new
condition.
