French Wine-Growing Regions
Three times the size of Burgundy, this confusing region of different soils and climates, styles and châteaux, produces as many as 20,000 wines of various qualities, of which you may only recognize a handful. There is none better than this valley for offering the greatest variety of the best of warm weather drinking wines. This region offers great value alternatives to other more prestigious regions, as well as diverse, unusual blends and tastes. A region of intense and varied earth and spice, the Rhône Valley holds claim to some of the greatest wine villages of France. The red Gamay grapes of the Beaujolais region create a unique wine exclusive unto itself. From the French region of Burgundy, we offer rich distinctive, easy drinking, smooth, deep red wines, and richly concentrated white wines to enjoy alone or with food. The almost exclusively white wine region of Alsace, gives us the opportunity to offer aromatic and richly ripe Rieslings—with a touch of sweetness, dry and luscious late-harvest Gewürztaminers, and creamy Pinot Blancs—to name a few. This region offers a most extraordinary drink: a white or rosé wine with sparkle and fizz, one that always creates a contented smile.
